Morton’s Neuroma

Morton's neuroma is a thickening of the tissues around the nerve leading to the toes.

The condition usually occurs between the third and fourth toes, as a result of local irritation, such as pressures caused by wearing high-heeled or narrow shoes.  Symptoms include pain in the ball of the foot and numbness in the toes. Simple treatments will usually resolve the condition, and range from wearing better-fitting footwear and using orthotics, to injections of corticosteroids.
