Categories of foot problem
There are many specific foot and ankle problems.
However, the generally fall into one of the following categories:
- Foot traumas (injuries)
- Stresses and pressures resulting from improper footwear
- Inherited conditions that affect the feet
- Conditions caused by bacterial, viral, or fungal infections
- Arthritic foot problems, often involving one or more joint
- Neoplastic disorders (usually called tumours, which may be benign or malignant)
