Achilles tendon xanthomas
High cholesterol levels can cause the formation of cholesterol deposits, called xanthomas, in the Achilles tendon.
They appear as small lumps. The best treatment is to address the cause of the problem (high cholesterol levels), though a biopsy may sometimes be taken to identify possible other causes.
